Obstructing Justice in Michigan

According to the Michigan Penal Code, obstructing, assaulting, wounding, or endangering a police officer, judge, parole officer, prosecutor, court employee, medical examiner, or another person involved in the criminal justice process is a serious felony offense. Obstruction not only includes physical assault or harm, but can include threats, or simply failing to obey a lawful command.

While obstruction of justice is a serious accusation, some don’t take it seriously because they never intended to obstruct an officer or disobey commands. Sometimes, things said during investigation can be misconstrued as threats, while questioning police or prosecutor requests because information was presented in a confusing way can lead to allegations of failing to obey a command.

If you have been charged with obstruction of justice, contact a Michigan criminal defense attorney right now. Our team will help you fight back against aggressive police and prosecutors who will be working to convict you.
